While changing a computer's name in Windows XP SP2. I get this dialog. I cannot figure out where to find this "shortened" NetBIOS name in Windows GUI. A look at the "Full Computer Name" still show me the long name. However, the short name is the only recognized name in many window API calls. Hmmm, wish me know a way to quickly check if a computer's name has been shortened without having to count the length of full computer name.Wednesday, July 06, 2005
